Quality Management System Policy
Blueseal is committed to delivering cleaning, property and training services that meet the agreed specification first time, every time, and that leave clients, residents and learners safe and well served.
The Board’s commitments
- Understand each client’s requirements in writing before work begins and confirm them at mobilisation.
- Comply with all applicable legal, regulatory, contractual and client-specific requirements.
- Set measurable quality objectives, communicate them to staff and review performance quarterly.
- Employ, train and supervise competent people, and pay at least the Real Living Wage where a contract requires it.
- Select and monitor suppliers and subcontractors against the same standards Blueseal applies to itself.
- Keep accurate, secure records that prove what was done, by whom and when.
- Treat every complaint and non-conformity as an opportunity to find the root cause and prevent recurrence.
- Reduce chemical use, water use and waste, and use licensed waste carriers.
- Keep quality assurance independent from frontline delivery so work is checked by someone who did not do it.
Risk assessment and continual improvement
Blueseal carries out risk assessments across its processes before any project begins: identifying hazards, analysing likelihood and impact, and putting mitigation measures in place. This includes cleaning, property works, training, consultancy and supporting business processes, with attention to people, safeguarding, quality, information security and the environment.
We apply the Plan–Do–Check–Act (PDCA) cycle:
- Plan: Define the work, identify hazards and affected people, analyse risk, agree controls and responsibilities, and assess the risk remaining after controls. Confirm that the work can proceed safely before mobilisation.
- Do: Brief the team, provide appropriate training and equipment, implement the agreed controls and record the assessment and working instructions.
- Check: Monitor conditions and inspect the work, review evidence and feedback, and check that controls remain effective. Reassess when the scope or conditions change.
- Act: Correct deficiencies, investigate incidents and near misses, update assessments and procedures, and communicate lessons before the next project.
If risks cannot be controlled within the team’s competence, the affected work must not start or must stop, and the concern is escalated to the responsible manager.
Our Carbon Reduction Plan applies the same review-and-improve approach to environmental performance.
Communication and review
This policy is to be communicated to employees at induction, displayed in the operational office, issued to subcontractors and made available to clients and the public on request. It is reviewed at each annual management review.
